The offer I have the pleasure to present has been specially tailored for a group of eight wine connoisseurs who wish to better understand what is really meant for natural or organic wines, not only natural as produced from organic agriculture, but wines made with the use of natural yeasts without changing physical pararameters during the vinification process.

Jérome Van der Putt, the special guide that has been selected for this tour of wine producers in Tuscany will give us some clarification over this issue.

Jérome is specialised in writing and giving courses on natural wines, he is author of a book on this subject (Vin Bio, mode d’emploi).

The aim of this tour is visiting six excellent wine producers in Tuscany (in the areas Chianti, Montalcino and Colline Lucchesi) and to get some more information over organic wine making.

During this trip you will have the chance to get some information on how wine is made in general, what the differences can be between conventional/industrial wine and wine “as natural as possible”, grape growing and wine making.

The visits to the wine producers will not simply be tasting, but occasions for an open discussion with the very same producers about the vinification process and how such process impact on the wine characteristics.

The trip begins in the area of Colline Lucchesi, where you will be hosted by one of the “vignaioli” included in the “wine list”, than we will take you to the Chianti area for a stay in the property of two excellent Chianti Classico makers, and finally in the region of Montalcino to meet two of the best producers of Brunello di Montalcino and one producer of Rosso di Montalcino.

During your epiculinary experience you will have the chance to excite your palate and pleasure in outstanding restaurants in Tuscany, and will share your meals inside the estate of 2 wine producers we have chosen for you.

The first restaurant we have chosen is Arnolfo Ristorante: the guests are treated to unforgettable gastronomic delights in this historic restaurant, deep in the heart of the hills of Chianti in a medieval village; the restaurant Arnolfo is a worthy representative of Italian gourmet cuisine, 2 Michelin star, the chef’s philosophy: cuisine that respects Tuscan tradition but is consistently innovative.

Here, the taste for creativity and the desire to preserve tradition are masterly portrayed everything that is prepared here is using the finest ingredients.

The second step is La Chiusa. This place, where you will also spend one night, and enjoy your stay in a comfortable manner in the nearby area of Montalcino, is made out of an old farm. The farm is at the centre of a large property in the traditional Tuscan farmhouses, once small self-sufficient worlds (that is where the name comes from “la Chiusa=Closed”). Originally “La Chiusa” was an oil mill with millstones, the mill used by all the neighbours and still functioning until recently. The dishes prepared belong strictly to the peasant tradition.

The Restaurant and Relais de campagne has 15 rooms, made out from an old oil mill set in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.
